There’s
something very special about sailboat cruising. As soon as you step
aboard, stow your gear and meet your sailing companions you
will get that feeling of excitement and you’ll know
that you are headed for an adventure. At times you rush along
with "a bone in her teeth". The wake is a boiling
trail of white water, the boat is heeled with the leeward
rail cutting through the water. You’ve got the helm
firmly and confidently in your grasp. At other times, sailing
will be a gentle wandering up a narrow waterway, the shore
close by. You’ll be at anchor soon, to enjoy the evening
with happy hour, a barbecue, maybe a swim and then time to
just sit in the cockpit and talk. (How long has it been since
you took the time to exchange ideas and thoughts.) So, don’t
hesitate, don’t procrastinate, sign up today. Let’s
start our adventure!
Possible Itineraries
The point at which the Patapsco River meets the main channel
of the Bay is the center of the finest cruising destinations.
Excellent destinations exist for a single-day cruise and for
extended cruises. They include Annapolis, St. Michaels, Rock
Hall and Swan Creek, the Magothy and Chester Rivers, and Bodkin,
Fairlee and Worten Creeks just to mention a few.
Do I need to know how to sail to take part in a cruise?
Our cruises are designed for both experienced sailors and
those who have had little or no sailing experience. For those
who are experienced sailors, the cruises provide an opportunity
to practice, renew and develop new cruising skills. For those
who have had little or no sailing experience, it's an ideal
chance to acquire the basics of sailing and cruising. If you
are eager to learn you will get practice in navigation, anchoring,
helmsmanship, reefing and heavy weather sailing techniques.
