The Ideal 18 is new to our fleet and is fast and simple to sail. The cockpit allows for three adults to sail in comfort and safety. For solo sailers, this is a perfect boat due to the furling and self-tending jib.
The usual racing crew is two even when flying the spinnaker. The Ideal 18 looks a lot like a scaled down Sonar, which is not too surprising since it was also designed by Bruce Kirby.
