 Kid's
Getaway is a junior sailing day camp offered at Miami Beach
on the Chesapeake Bay. Young sailors are divided into two
sections. Beginners take the "Minnows" section; the "Sunfish"
sections are for those who have completed "Minnows" or who
have had equivalent sailing experience.
The greatest way for youngsters to learn sailing is by doing so in a boat of
their own size. The eight-foot, Optimist Prams we use for training are simply
rigged and easily sailed, even by 7 year olds, with no prior sailing
experience! Couple this terrific little boat with a sandy beachfront setting,
enthusiastic counselors trained in First Aid/CPR, and
you’ve got the makings of the area’s best-ever, very-junior
day camp!
 Kid's Getaway is scheduled Monday through Friday from 9:00 am
to 4:00 pm.
Parents Day
Parents are invited to visit the camp on Friday to watch the campers participate
in a real sailboat regatta and graduate, with honors!
Transportation to Miami Beach
We will not be able to provide transportation this year to Miami Beach from Getaway Sailing; however, we think we have an alternative that will be attractive to you. Please call the office to discuss this option, 410-342-3110.

Cost:
$425 per person which includes a camp shirt and a pizza party on Friday (Parents' Day).
A campers' enrollment is confirmed upon receipt of the full payment (50% of this payment is non-refundable) which must be received within two weeks of initial registration. Payment may be made by calling the office with a credit card, by mailing a check, or by stopping by the office.

Additional weeks of camp will be scheduled if there is sufficient interest, so if you don't find a camp date that works for your own schedule you may want to put your name on our waiting list to be contacted if a new camp is scheduled.
Discounts:
A 10% discount is available if two or more campers are enrolled from the
same family or if the enrollment is for two or more weeks or if the parent
is a member of the Getaway Sailing Club (one discount per family).
What to Bring:
The best outfit for sailing is shorts, a top and tennis shoes (white soles)
or boat shoes. A hat, sunscreen, sunglasses and water bottle are essential
for those sun enriched days. Bring a camera to capture the smiles of new
friends. Please pack a lunch, snack and a beverage.
